EL VIAJE DEL FRAM
2018

After reading about the "adventures and misadventures" of F. Nansen, the themes of this monographic album were born. The story is this: In 1893, a tremendously Renaissance man, Fridtjof Nansen finished a boat that was designed with the firm intention of letting him run aground and take advantage of the ice drift to reach the North Pole. His wife, Eva, christened the ship Fran (Norwegian for "Forward"). At present, it is exhibited in Oslo
The ship, with a keel reinforced by Nansen himself, had a library of more than 600 volumes and a multitude of advances to its time such as the windmill to produce electricity and an organ to pass the long hours of waiting ...
Despite his foresight and enormous knowledge in his journey of almost three years (1893-1896), he encountered thousands of vicissitudes until he was rescued in an almost miraculous encounter.
From that modern Nordic Saga are born the nine themes that make up THE JOURNEY OF FRAM
In the summer of 1893 he sailed from Oslo with 13 men and sufficient provisions for the shores of New Siberia.

In his letters to his wife (Eva) Nansen writes "I feel that your thoughts travel north without finding me", even so, inside him and without forgetting that his promise was to prioritize his own survival, he hears her voice, distorted by ice, loneliness and time

On June 17, Nansen thinks he hears a dog barking in the distance. Indeed, it corresponded to Stanley's expedition, also looking for the north pole. Food and human warmth ensured the return.
